Now that the season has started and he is still on the quitter list, what does that mean? Does he now start owing part of a bonus back each game? Not really sure I underrstand how it works and what is happening right now. And is so, why has he now gone radio silent after all that summer nonsense?

He's due to forfeit greater than 25 percent of his signing bonus allocation for this season, proportional to how much time he misses. Could end up being 100 percent if he stays away long enough, but not more than 100 percent.

He can still file for reinstatement at any time.
At this rate this guy might still be on our roster through the start of training camp next year. Sheesh!

He's gonna retire a niner. Not a lot of players get to retire with the team that drafted him. Pretty remarkable

You gotta really hand it to him

If he chooses to not get reinstated and remains technically under contract with us still in 2030, does he get added to the 10 year wall with the other players that have been here at least 10 seasons?

Mike wouldn't be on the team if BA was around

Yep.

Though even if the relationship didn't deteriorate to the current state, he did still suffer a major injury. Might not have been the same quality player.

Probably right. He is on a pretty cheap deal though.

The team will argue and fight to recover his team allocation for whatever he was paid for the 2026 NFL year. That will give us back cap space and make us more competitive.

I doubt the team will take the follow up step to go after BA for the actual money to recover it. That is real bad PR.

Why not? They would make a good 1-2 punch

There's no argument needed for what they can go after. It's a formula based on how much time he misses.

I think you're mistaken on the 49ers willingness to go after the actual cash. Receipt of the cash is what triggers a cap credit according to the CBA, and none of this would necessarily be public. That's of course not factoring the public is not on Aiyuk's side.
Everybody needs to go easy on Brandon Aiyuk, he's clearly suffering from postpartem depression.
